The scholarships are to be used for full or part-time post
high-school
level courses (college or vocational school). They are available to members of the Colonial
Williamsburg Fifes & Drums Senior Corps who remain in the
Corps through their graduation from high school unless, due to
extenuating circumstances, a member of the Corps had to leave
earlier.
The scholarships are based primarily on merit and accomplishments
within the Corps, but other accomplishments and need also are considered. The Awards Committee oversees the process and makes
recommendations to the Advisory Board for final
selections. One full-time member of the Colonial
Williamsburg Fifes & Drums staff is a member of the
Awards Committee.

Colonial
Williamsburg Foundation, 2003
All applicants must complete an application by October 15th of
their senior year, and attend an interview before the Awards Committee in
November. An anonymous evaluation questionnaire is
completed by all Senior Corps members as well.
The final selections are made and announced in December and the
scholarships are officially presented at the annual January
meeting of the Corps.
The scholarships are paid by Tricorn directly to the college or
institution to be attended by the award recipient.
